How did the printing press affect the 15 century?

Up until the press was invented people had to depend on others to give them information because they couldn’t read it. The Catholic Church was in charge of information and told thepeople of Europe how to think and what to do, but with books people could see for themselves what The Bible said and didn’t need the church to be the middle man between them and God.
