Is there a way to un-equip weapons in Assassin's Creed Revelations?

The hookblade is permanently equipped after Sequence 2. Ezio's second hidden blade was broken during his first pilgrimage to Masyaf, and was replaced by the hookblade when he arrived in Constantinople.
