What is spaturation?

Saturation refers to the state in which a solution contains the maximum concentration of a solute that can be dissolved at a given temperature and pressure. Beyond this point, any additional solute will not dissolve and may precipitate out. In various contexts, such as color theory or Photography, saturation can also describe the intensity or purity of a color. Overall, saturation indicates a limit beyond which a system cannot hold more of a substance.
