Ethanoic acid has the formula CH3COOH

From the Periodic Table.

C x 2 = 12 x 2 = 24

H x 4 = 1 x 4 = 4

O x 2 = 16 x 2 = 32

24 + 4 + 32 = 60 is the Mr (

Remember the equation.

moles = mass(g) / Mr (Mr = Relative molecular mass).

Algebraically rearranging

mass(g) = moles X Mr

For 1 mole.

mass = 1 moles X 60 = 60 g/mole (The molar Mass).
