How many people die yearly due to salt?

approximately somewhere between 1 to 2 million people. some eat excessive amounts of salt in order to kill themselves, others desperately drink salt water when they dont have other options. still others, many of them young children, unknowingly eat a large amount of salt without knowing better, and die. Another small percentage of salt deaths are from people choking on large, unprocessed peices of sodium, which still counts as a salt death. Salt has become a worldwide epidemic. It claims more lives each year than sugar, sex, and even banana.
