Is elephantiasis curable

Yes. It is curable.

The microfilariae, bacteria and the worms that cause elephantiasis can be killed completely by taking DEC tablets (Hetrazan) for a period of time. The time ranging from 2 months to 1 year.

But the body (mostly limbs) swelling caused from the disease is not cured completely. There are lots of methods to remove the bulged limbs such as nodovenous shunt and Charles' operation and physical therapy methods depending upon the severity of the swellling. But regaining the original shape of the limb might not be possible.
