What do you do if your best friend who is a girl likes you?

I am a girl, my best friend is a boy...i wouldn't know if he was into me because i feel weird asking him if he does and i don't think he would tell me either! I love him to DEATH! I hang out with him all the time...my parents konw that he is my best friend! He is funny and sticks up for me no matter what is going on! But people come up to me like from school and say "are you two going out" one time he said we were but WE ARENT! i stick up for him too...like if a another boy is being meen i go up to him and say "WOOAHHH don't be meen to him!" and they back off! like i said i love him and my parents know that he does too! he comes to my house all the time and when we had a party at school we danced...isn't that what friends should do?? just one thing though..if your gonna be best friends with him you cant go off telling people your dating unless its true...he might get mad and just never talked to you, so be carefull.
