How can you tell if your auto tires are dry rotted How does this happen I am planning a trip how can I detect this problem. The car has been parked for about three years will this promote dry rot?

There will be small cracks along the sidewall, or near where the tread is. This happens from the car sitting in one spot for an extended period of time. the rubber dries out from heat and develops cracks. Do not go on any trip with these tires, very dangerous- unless u bring along a couple of spares.

Replace asap!
