Where is the fuel filter located on a 1998 Volkswagen Passat?

Hi there. The fuel pump, even if is a petrol or a diesel one is located on the top of the fuel tank. Remove the carpet in the boot and in the bottom, right hand side you'll see the cover for pomp. Or, is better if you fold the back seat. When I had problems with mine, they asked, on the garage for 350 euro for filter and another 250 for work. Feck them. I bought a brand new BOSH filter with 120 euro and I fixed myself. It's working perfect.
