Mobile phones are generally helpful for all kinds of things nowadays, not just the normal usage - phoning and texting your friends. Modern phones are mostly equipped with niceities such as internet, camera, camcorder, games, polyphonic ringtones, a ringtone maker, and file attachments. These things aren't necessary, or even that helpful, but these are simply what modern phones tend to have, nowadays.
