Curses don't exist, except as "swear Words" and in films like The Mummy.
The urban legend about $2 bills being "evil" started in the 19th century when they were commonly used by patrons of brothels and race tracks where the going rate was $2. Many people who didn't frequent those nefarious businesses refused to use $2 bills because they were afraid someone would make assumptions about how they'd acquired the bills.
Especially in more rural and less well-educated parts of the country, the superstition spread that the bills themselves had somehow become "tainted" by their association with crime. As late as the 1950s it was common to find $2 bills with one corner torn off to "let the evil drain out" !!
But the facts are that $2 bills have never been discontinued, are still printed, and are PERFECTLY ORDINARY CURRENCY. Anything dated 1976 or later is only worth $2 so feel free to spend them. Using $2 bills actually helps the economy because each bill does the work of two $1 bills at half the printing cost.
