Is the letter e used in The Great Gatsby?

"The great Gatsby" by Scott Fitzgerald uses the letter "e".

However, there's a book called "Gadsby, : Champion of Youth" by Ernest Vincent Wright. This 50 000+ Words masterpiece doesn't contain the letter "e" once. The writer even omits numbers and abreviations (like mr.) which when typed out would contain the letter "e".
