The order in which food passes through the digestive system is?

Food passes through the digestive system in the following order: it enters the mouth, where it is chewed and mixed with saliva, then travels down the esophagus to the stomach. In the stomach, food is mixed with gastric juices and broken down further before moving into the small intestine, where most nutrient absorption occurs.
