The largest hailstone on record fell on July 23, 2010 in Vivian Nebraska. It was 18.5 inches in circumference and nearly 2 pounds in weight.

The biggest ones typically fall in the US Great Plains, but even there it's quite rare to see anything more than the size of baseballs.
