Why is it important to manage safely?

Safety is imperative, for a variety of reasons.

1. It is just the right thing to do for your employees and customers.

2. Accidents/injuries cost money. Lost productivity of employees, hits to your Worker's Compensation insurance, Unemployment insurance (if the injured worker must be out of work for an extended period and the accident is found to be the fault of management), increased insurance premiums, lawsuits, damage to equipment/loss of materials, not to mention the overall damage to the company's reputation when it gets out that it is an unsafe place to work or shop.
