'Xerxes' most commonly refers to Xerxes the Great, son of Darius the Great, a Persian king (today we call that country Iran). Largely known for the battle of Thermopylae, in which a Greek army of 300 men stood up to his huge army, and wouldn't surrender.
He might have been a powerful ruler, but that doesn't mean he had special magical powers.
