What is role of a worship leader?

The role of a worship leader has many faces. Their primary job is to lead a congregation into worship of God through music singing and playing. To do this, he or she must have a relationship with the one whom they are worshipping. It is also their responsibility to set an example of leadership within their congregation and have a servant's heart as well. That person should be able to shepard a team of volunteer or paid singers and musicians to aid them in leading worship, as well as understand all the technical aspects, the sound, lighting, and video, and be able to work closely with a pastor to prepare for a Sunday morning service.
