If you are able to visit someone who is sick and needy, it might be helpful if you just come and sit quietly with them. You would be near them, ready to get them a drink, a tissue, some food, or anything else they might need.
If the sick person has a family, you could help by watching their children, cooking food for the rest of the family, doing laundry, or housecleaning for them.
Some people need to be drive to the doctor or hospital. You could also drive them to pick up prescription medications.
If someone has an upset stomach, feed them small amounts of the BRAT diet: Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast. Stay away from meats and dairy products for a couple of days, until the stomach is recovered. Encourage the sick person to slowly drink fluids to avoid dehydration.
