What is a black birds real name?

A common blackbird's scientific name is Turdus merula. It is a species of true thrush. There are several varieties:

A Eurasian Blackbird. Commonly known as the Blackbird.

There are also:

Grey-winged Blackbird

White-collared blackbird

and New World Blackbird.

In Arizona, I have seen red winged and yellow winged Blackbirds--very sharp looking!
