Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) partners with many organizations to bring program to Girl Scouts. It is up to the girls and their families to determine whether or not they wish to be involved in any program presented by any organization.

None of the money earned from any Girl Scout council-sponsored cookie sale is given to any other group. This does not preclude girls from spending their money locally on program related activities, such as paying their own way to a community event or museum, or funding other legitimate programmatic outings. Girls may also choose to use money earned through product activities to purchase materials for a community action leadership project to benefit the community.

All of the revenue from all cookie sale activities supports the local Girl Scout council where the cookies are sold, including a portion that goes directly to the group selling cookies. The purpose of selling cookies is to help girls develop a wide range of skills and to generate revenue to support Girl Scouting locally.

Misinformation about Girl Scouts has been sent around the internet over the last several years. That information is either (1) false, (2) unfairly edited to imply "guilt by association" or (3) grossly exaggerated to create the appearance of a relationship that does not exist with Planned Parenthood.
