The highest elevation from which a person has fallen is approximately 38,000 feet (about 11,582 meters) from a plane. This record is held by Vesna Vulović, a Serbian flight attendant who survived a fall from a Yugoslav Airlines DC-9 in 1972 after the aircraft exploded mid-air. Remarkably, she survived with serious injuries despite the extreme altitude.
