Historians of any era will find problems due to conflicting information or from the lack of any reliable sources. Often times, archeologists can aid historians when they uncover ancient artifacts or scrolls. Also, history has shown that quite often the winners of a conflict are ones who write the history. First hand witness accounts help the historian and sometimes even second hand sources can prove to be reliable.
