Why do people think spankings are bad for children?

Hitting anyone is not a good thing, especially a child. You are teaching the child that physical violence is acceptable when you hit him/her. Spanking is degrading to a child.

It has been proven that spanking or hitting children does not change their behavior, nor does it teach them an appropriate means of dealing with problems.

What one person calls a spanking may turn into a beating from someone else.

There are more appropriate ways to teach and discipline children, even young children; time out, loss of privileges, temporary loss of toys, electronics etc.

well when your children are juz out of control most parents pop their children

because i think its a difference between displine and beating because beating is where u abuse your child and displine is getting some home training and some self control
