What is the difference between bed sheet and bedspread?

bedding term is much confused now due to number of bedding options but you have to differentiate each of them.

Bed sheet is bed covering that on covers bed and its only purpose to cover a bed, but the main purpose of bed spread is to decorate your bed and its name implies it spread through sides and foot of a bed. what you think?
