What part of the legume flower becomes the pod?

The pod of a legume flower develops from the ovary after fertilization occurs. The ovary, which is located at the base of the flower, contains the ovules that will eventually become seeds. As the ovary matures, it enlarges and transforms into the characteristic pod that contains the seeds.
