In 1 Peter 3 he speaks of wives.....
Verse 3
Let your beauty be not just the otuward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of god, or of putting on fine clothing.
Verse 4
But in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious.
So, that's not a sign that it is wrong, but rather that one must be more than that. The phrase "let your beauty be not justthe...." indicates that the author sees nothing wrong with the things he mentions, or else he would have said "let your beauty be not the...."
