Why is airborne lead no longer much of a problem as a pollutant?

Airborne lead is no longer as much of a problem due to regulations that have been implemented to reduce lead emissions, such as the phase-out of leaded gasoline and restrictions on lead in paints and other products. Improved technologies and public awareness have also played a role in reducing lead exposure and pollution.
