When the mother of the bride and the mother's extended family live in a different state than the bride and groom what celebration is held for the mother's family who cannot attend the wedding?
There is no celebration held for the mother of the bride's family. Her family could send a telegram of well wishes to the bride and groom and these telegrams are generally read at the wedding reception. Relatives could also telephone well wishes or send a card and a gift. Some young people after they are married may plan their honeymoon in the area of the state of their relatives that could not attend the wedding and it is up to those members of the family to either have a small party of sorts for the newly married couple or they may not.
