How long did parliament house take to build?

Assuming construction started when the land was acquired in 1911, due to interruptions (for example World War I) the Old Parliament Building was not completed until 1927 some 16 years later.

For the New Parliament Building, a competition to design it started the construction process in 1978 and it was opened in 1988 some 10 years later.
