What is the hottest temperature in Rio de Janeiro?

I lived in Rio from 1974 to 1998. Summer of 1988 was especially hot, I remember seeing 44 degrees Celsius, that's 111 Fahrenheit, with almost 100% humidity! The heat was unbearable!
