There has never been a revolution in Britain. There has been a Civil War which comprised a series of battles between the Royalists
Roundheads, who opposed him and wished to establish a democratic Parliament. The battles took place between 1642 and 1651 during which time Charles 1 was tried and executed for treason and his son Charles 11 defeated and sent into exile. Parliament was then established. [edit by selenityk] There had been a Parliament in England long before the Civil Wars. Parliaments were legally established in the Magna Carta, but there were meetings between the king and his barons before that.
