Definition of emo

Emo is a slang term for "emotional". Troubled teens with social, mental, and particularly emotional problems would be the true definition of 'emo'. However, in our modern culture, emo seems to have become a style. Example: "Look at that hot emo guy."

Now, 'that guy' probably does not have emotional problems. He just has black hair, wears skinny jeans, and wears eyeliner.

'Scene' is a more appropriate term to describe the style, whereas "emo'' should probably be left to describe those with actual problems. "Goths" and "Punks" are other similar steriotypes.

And no, not all emos are cutters.

I personally belive steriotypes are pointless, and people should just be themselves; individuals. But the world insists on labeling those different than they are...I digress.
