Why a 1979 Chevy 350 keeps back firing through the carburetor if the firing order is correct?

You are bad out of time, or maybe you have wired the wires in the wrong rotation. It should be clockwise rotation. Check to see if you have wired it correctly, also if you have removed the distributor and reinstalled it you may be out of time.
