Why do men die first?

They do more stupid things than women.

We don't, always.

But men generally live more dangerous lives. Men are more likely to be in the military, to play rough contact sports, to ski or skydive, or to have dangerous jobs like taxi driver or commercial fisherman. Far more men than women commit violent crimes, or participate in gangs, or go to prison.

On average, there are 105 male babies born for every 100 female babies. But more men are killed in accidents or in war than women, and by age 50 or so, there are a lot more women than men.
