To change the oil on a 1983 Yamaha XJ750, first, warm up the engine briefly to thin the oil, then turn it off and let it cool slightly. Place a drain pan under the engine and locate the drain plug, which is situated on the bottom of the engine case. Remove the drain plug using a wrench, allowing the old oil to fully drain out. After the oil has drained, replace the drain plug, remove the old oil filter, install a new one, and refill the engine with fresh oil through the designated filler cap.
