on the fuel line
The fuel filter is the canister on the fuel line next to (left of) and slightly below the master cylinder (brake) near the windshield (back) of the engine compartment, slightly right of center facing the car front.
CAUTIONS:
1) Relieve fuel line pressurization before changing by either pulling the fuel pump fuse/relay with the car idling and allowing it to stall, or pulling the fuel pump fuse with the car off and turning the engine (trying to start it) for a few tries; maybe 10 seconds.
2) Use a rag below the fuel filter to catch excess gasoline in the lines.
3) Always a good idea to replace any copper or brass washers on the fule line connectors every 3rd or 4th change.
