How do you tell if a lady bug is dead or not?

don't presume it is dead lady bugs hibernate for as long as it is cold outside and can live up to two years outside and one year inside. if it is boiling outside then it is probably dead but you never know i say put it somewhere no one will walk on and then wait a day and see if it has flew away. if it didn't leave it where it is, leave it for a few days and then it will be dead if it hasn't moved, that's my best answer anyway if that didn't help I'm sorry!
