Was Ronald Reagan's school private public or was he homeschooled?

Ronald Reagan attended public schools in Illinois before going on to Eureka College, a private liberal arts college. So technically, he was neither homeschooled nor attended a public school for his higher education. But hey, at least he didn't miss out on the whole school experience!
