Where was computer coding invented?

Computer coding, as we know it today, evolved from earlier forms of programming and automation. The concept can be traced back to the early 19th century with Ada Lovelace, who is often considered the first computer programmer for her work on Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine. However, modern coding languages began to take shape in the mid-20th century, primarily in the United States, with the development of assembly language and higher-level programming languages like FORTRAN and COBOL.
