Is there an animal that will overeat itself to death?

Betta fish will eat themselves to death, which means owners should only feed them once a day, and maybe skip a day so they can have an emptier stomach. Overeating is a cause of death for some betta's especially with children who continue to feed them. A sign of overeating is a large distended belly, and if this overeating habit isn't corrected the fish can over eat to death.
