Yes and no. While it is true that you could tread water or swim, it would only be a short period of time before you would begin to sink.
Because the DENSITY of gasoline is about 3/4 of water, there is less bouyancy, and so you will be exhausted quickly, and start to sink. Your weight of 100 pounds would be more like 130 pounds in gasoline.
Think about the difference in density between a pond or river water, a swimming pool, and the ocean. The saltier water will be denser, and you will float more. Think how much easier it is to stay afloat in salt water compared to a pool of freshwater, or a river, and the density thing will make a lot of sense!
Not to mention that breathing the fumes, and exposure to skin would take a toll pretty quickly and kill you pretty fast....
