Did the crips ever have honest intentions when it formed?

The Crips were originally formed in the late 1960s in Los Angeles as a community organization aimed at addressing social issues and providing protection for African American neighborhoods. Initially, their intentions included promoting solidarity and empowerment within their communities. However, over time, the group's focus shifted towards gang-related activities, violence, and drug trafficking, which overshadowed their original mission.
