Where is the heart located with its what pointed toward the left hip?

The heart located right in the center of the chest underneath the sternum. In a transverse section
the heart is actually between the sternum and the vertebrae below it. The apex of the heart is lowest tip of the organ that points downward from the base, forming what almost looks like a rounded point . It’s formed mostly by the left ventricle and extends pretty far out to the left in most people. The large blood vessels come off the base while the tip (or apex) more or less points to the left.
