What is the significance of the Dia De Los Muertos days?

Day of the Dead is a celebration of ancestors. It lasts several days and culminates with a parade that usually leads to and ends in the local cemetery. Once there, families picnic, party and celebrate their heritage and ancestors by telling stories about their ancestors or stories that have been passed down by them. Families also clean the areas around their family grave site and often decorate with flowers, wine and pictures.
