After the failure of the Roanoke Colony, Sir Walter Raleigh faced significant consequences. He returned to England, where he was initially imprisoned for several years due to political rivalries and accusations of treason. Although he was released, he undertook another expedition to the New World in 1617, but upon his return, he was executed in 1618 on orders from King James I, largely due to his previous unauthorized explorations and conflicts with the Spanish.
