Where did a zipper come from?

The modern zipper originated from the work of Elias Howe, who patented an early version called the "Automatic, Continuous Clothing Closure" in 1851. However, it wasn't until the early 20th century that the design was refined by Gideon Sundback, who developed the more functional version we use today. Sundback's design became popular in the 1910s and 1920s, particularly in clothing and bags, leading to the widespread adoption of zippers in various applications.
