How many beds is a fleet hospital able to hold?

How many beds for a fleet hospital (FH) depends totally on the mission at the moment. In 2003, FH8 in Rota, Spain, provided 250 additional top-of-the-line beds for the Operation Iraq Freedom mission. During Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield (1991 - 92), FH3, FH5 and FH15 offered 500 beds a piece. Since a FH is movable and can expand/contract as needed, the number of beds depends on the needs of the Navy at that particular time.
