Why do people need to be alone?

I personally need to be alone in order to recharge my batteries. You never realize how much of a toll other people take on you until you're away from them. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, and I believe this is true. Even if its absence from your family, lol. Once you have a break, you can come back and enjoy them again.
