Where did Pandora come from?

In Greek mythology, Pandora was the first woman created by the gods as part of the punishment for mankind. She was crafted by Hephaestus and Athena on the orders of Zeus. Pandora was given a jar (often mistakenly referred to as a box) containing all the evils of the world, which she opened, releasing them upon humanity.
