Why is it that good television series and movies are aired on HBO. Can some one please provide every week's list?

HBO is a big brand , so it pays the producers or directors good to maintain its status among the other channels . If you look at other channels, they might have some stupid shows or stupid movies coming up because they want only profit, while with HBO it keeps in mind about its viewer's choice and also pays well to the scriptwriters to get good stuff to be aired.
